Chinese Academy of Sciences International Symposium on Livestock and Poultry Science was hold in Changsha

On 3 July, Chinese Academy of Sciences International Symposium on Livestock and Poultry Science (ISLPS) was held at the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture (ISA), the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changsha, China. More than 200 scientists from China, America, Canada, Australia and South Korea attended the symposium.

Livestock and poultry health and products safety are key topics of social concern. With social development and improvement of people's living standards, the developments of resource-saving and environment-friendly animal husbandry become requirement of sustainable development. ISLPS aims to attract the world’s brightest scientists, calling for collaboration beyond the lines of disciplines and nationalities. The forum provides an opportunity to discuss recent research on livestock and poultry.

In addition, ISLPS shared their current research on arginine and the new products: Arginine activator additive (AAA), an analogue of NAG, which is a metabolically stable activator of CPS-I. AAA can help overcome the practical limitation of arginine delivery to the neonates effectively. Oral AAA administration has many advantages in regulating the arginine synthesis in piglets and sows production.

Also, government officials from Hunan province attended the ISLPS. (Wu xin,Liu Gang)
