Officials of the British Consulate-General Guangzhou visit the Key Laboratory of Agro-ecological Processes in Subtropical region

On June 19, Mr. Peter Harrington, the Sci-tech consul of the Science and Innovation Sector, British Consulate-General Guangzhou, and Ms. Sarah Zhang, the delegate of Science and Innovation Sector, visited the Key Laboratory of Agro-ecological Processes in Subtropical-region, the Chinese Academy of Science. Professor Tan Zhiliang, the vice-director of the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture (ISA), the Chinese Academy of Science introduced the detailed situation to the guests.

During the visit, Mr. Peter Harrington introduced the work frame and related projects of the Science and Innovation Sector, British Consulate-General Guangzhou to the scientists of ISA. Correspondingly, the relevant scientists of ISA especially addressed the research progress in the soil carbon cycle of typical sub-tropical regions, food safety and crop molecular ecology, and the ongoing projects of international cooperation. Both sides discussed the cooperative opportunity, and reached a consensus for the possible priority research fileds of international cooperation in the future.
