Research on Amino Acid Nutrition and Immunity in Pigs of Professor Yulong Yin's Group Attracts the Attention of Scholars at Home and Abroad

Recently, a meeting abstract entitled "Pig amino acid metabolism in immune regulation" by Professor Yulong Yin, a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a researcher at the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was recorded in the conference presentation album titled "The Challenge of Change/The New Normal?" by Elsevier's Animal Series Journal, Animal-Science Proceedings (formerly Advances in Animal Biosciences).

This abstract briefly describes the invited online presentation given by Yulong Yin at the Society's Annual Conference, the British Society of Animal Science 77th Annual Conference 2021, held virtually on 12th–15th April 2021. In the presentation, Yin pointed out that amino acid nutrition had become a critical regulatory approach to improve the health of both humans and animals and prevent diseases. He said: "Although the study on nutritional immunity has made remarkable progress in the past few years, the molecular mechanism underlying amino acids regulating immunity is still not clear and has to be clarified." The presentation was widely concerned and discussed by scholars worldwide, which was instrumental in advancing the international academic influence of the team.

It is learned that Yin's research team has done plenty of essential research work on amino acid nutrition and immune regulation in pigs in the past ten years. The related results have been published in many famous academic journals, such as the Journal of Pineal Research, Mucosal Immunology, SCIENCE CHINA Life Sciences, Food & Function, Molecular Nutrition & Food Research, Journal of Nutrition, Frontiers in Immunology, and the British Journal of Nutrition. Numerous authoritative international journals, including Science, Nature, Cell, and PNAS, are often cited these papers. Indeed, the publication of this report and album once again pushes Yin’s team to the forefront of the academic research field of amino acid nutrition and immunity in pigs.
