Resume
    Prof. Wang, the tutor of doctoral students, the leader of the field on the pattern of regional agricultural ecosystem in Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISA, CAS). He graduated and won Master degree of Science from the ISA, CAS in 1988, and engaged in the researches on sustainable use of land and water resources and agricultural development from 1996 to 1997 in Australia. Now he served as the Director of ISA, CAS, the executive directors of the Ecological Society of China and Chinese Ecological Economics Society, the chairman of Ecological Society and the vice-chairman of Natural Resources Institute of Hunan Province, the editor-in-chief of Research of Agricultural Modernization Periodical, and the members of the editorial board of Chinese Journal of Eco-agriculture and Resources and Environment in the Yangtza Basin. He had published more than 100 articles, won the second prize of scientific and technological progress by Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001and the first prize of Hunan scientific and technological progress in 2008.
Prof. Wang has long been engaged in the researches on regional ecology and patterns of agricultural development. On the study of environmental migration and ecological restoration in Guangxi Karst regions, prof. Wang, leading his research group, established demonstration area on the environmental migration which has a greater impact in China. The characteristics of the fragile ecological environment and its causes, and the environmental effects owing to irrational development were explored. The causes and mechanisms of environmental migration, environmental capacity and its constraints, and resettlement fashions and its impacts on the ecological environment, society and economy were studied in Karst region of southwest China. The response strategies and the optional technology policies for government were proposed. In the flood and waterlog study on middle reaches of Yangtze River Basin, from the point of view among interactions of the basin highlands, coastal zones and water, the suggestions of ecological security system on the adjustments of man-land and man-lake relationships, the reconstruction land-use patterns of soil and water conservation-based model in basin slope, and the development patterns on avoiding flood and waterlogging tolerance model for adapting to the flooding laws in Lake area were put forward.

Over the past 5 years, prof. Wang has chaired 7 research projects and topics including National Technology Programme for Tackling Key Problems, Important Project of Knowledge Innovation Project of CAS, Local Important Projects, and so on.
