Born in 1967. He got a master's degree for Animal Nutrition and Feed Science from Hunan Agricultural University in 2000. As a senior visiting scholar with the University of Guelph in Canada to carry out a collaborative research for the piglets during the development of molecular and biochemical characteristics. Memberships of professional societies are Hunan Association of Animal Nutrition and Ecological Environment, Association of Animal Nutrition and Association of feed pig in China Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, respectively. Research interests are monogastric animals (pigs) eco-nutrition and molecular biology. He won Second Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for scientific and technological progress in 1995 (ranked No 6), Third Award of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 1996 (ranked No 6), First prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Hunan Science and Technology System in 2000 (ranked No 7), Frist Award of Science and Technology Progress Award of Hunan Province in 2006 (ranked No. 4), Second Award of Science and Technology Progress Award of Hunan Province in 2007 (ranked No. 8) as well as Second Award of National Scientific and Technological Progress Award in 2008 (ranked No. 3), respectively. Over 90 reserached articles and two monographs were published ("Modern biotechnology for animal husbandry" and "Amino acid nutrition and metabolism of pigs").

As the main researchers, he has participated in the the National Basic Research Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation, National Scientific and Technological Supporting Projects, the Chinese Academy of Science Knowledge Innovation Project, Fund of Agricultural Science and Technology outcome application, and Foundation of Hunan Province, respectively.
