Research professor at the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Core Distinguished Researcher of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Mainly engaged in researches on carbon and nitrogen cycling processes in terrestrial ecosystems and their responses to global change, improvement of fertility in degraded lands, novel bio-organic fertilizers. Research over the past five years has elucidated the control mechanisms of biological nitrogen fixation in karst ecosystems, clarified the rates and regulatory mechanisms of soil carbon and nitrogen accumulation during karst vegetation restoration, revealed the microbial mechanisms by which tree species diversity promotes soil carbon and nitrogen accumulation in karst forests, and developed functional microbial agents and bio-organic fertilizers, systematically revealing their mechanisms for controlling crop diseases. Published over 180 papers in international journals, with citations exceeding 8,000 times. Serves as the Director of the Key Laboratory of Subtropical Agricultural Ecological Processes, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Guangxi Key Laboratory of Sericulture Ecology and Intelligent Technology Application; Member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Ecology and Environmental Protection of Rare and Endangered Animals and Plants, Ministry of Education; Member of the Academic Committee of the Guangxi Key Laboratory of Cultivated Land Conservation; Member of the Academic Committee of the Liaoning Key Laboratory of Stable Isotope Technology; Member of the Academic Committee of the Hunan Key Laboratory of Clean Utilization of Coal Resources and Mine Environmental Protection; Member of the Academic Committee of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration Key Laboratory of Fast-growing Timber Cultivation in Central South China; Think Tank Expert of the Guangxi "Two Mountains" Development Research Institute; Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Geographical Society; Member of the Surface and Biogeochemistry Committee of the 10th Council of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology, and Geochemistry; Member of the Watershed Carbon Neutrality Committee of the China Water Resources Strategy Research Association; Member of the Carbon Neutrality and Global Change Working Group of the Chinese Soil Society; and Council Member of several provincial societies; Editorial Board Member of several academic journals (Journal of Applied Ecology, Journal of Plant Ecology, Nitrogen, Journal of Agricultural Resources and Environment, Research on Agricultural Modernization, Chinese Journal of Ecology, etc.).
Students interested in applying for master's or doctoral studies in this research group are welcome. Additionally, the research group is continuously recruiting postdoctoral researchers (specializing in ecology, microbiology, soil science, plant nutrition, or related disciplines), and welcomes collaborative research initiatives.
