Two Professors of Wuhan University Visited ISA
Prof. Lihui Shu and Zhihong Zhang from the College of Life Sciences, Wuhan University, visited the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture (ISA) for academic communication. They visited the identification room of rice and the molecular ecology laboratory of crops for resisting stress, and held academic exchanges and discussions with related project groups in ISA. The academic reports were rich in contents and highly welcomed by the participating teachers and students.
Prof. Lihui Shu and Zhihong Zhang are mainly engaged in the gene location of high-yielding and blast-resistant of rice, molecular marker-assisted selective breeding and rice false smut gene identification. Many influential academic papers were published in journals of Plant Science, Field Crops Research, Annals of Botany, Euphytica and so on.
Over 30 scientists participated in this academic communication, including Prof. Zili Yi from Hunan Agriculture University, Prof. Mengliang Xu from Hunan Normal University, Prof. Runliang Luo and Guiyuan Wang from National Hybrid Rice Engineering Research Center, Prof. Damo Li and Lianquan Liu from ISA, and the teachers and students from some related research groups.
