On July 17, 2009, the main memberships of the Oversea Innovation Research Team on the circulation and manipulation of N and P in the subtropical agro-ecological system investigated and chose an ideal research base in Jinjing, Changsha county. Based on the suggestions proposed by the experts at the feasibility argumentation meeting, the scientists of Oversea Innovation Research Team started the initial implementation of the project. The fixed research base will be helpful to probe the transferring regularity of N and P in the agro-ecological system within a range of basin perimeter, and to find out the forming principle of N and P non-point source pollution in the agro-ecological system. It is also advantageous to study the mechanism of circulation and manipulation of N and P in the agro-ecological system, to establish the high efficiency utilization technologies of N and P in the integrated agriculture production system, which can reduce the environmental risk resulted from N and P elements.

Overseas cooperation experts, Dr. Yong Li and Dr. Chunhua Zhang, from the University of Melbourne, Australia and the Eastern University of Tennessee, respectively, participated in this activity.
