Prof. YIN Yulong Won the Honorary Title of National Advanced Worker

On April 28, 2015, nearly 3,000 outstanding workers from around the country were feted at the Great Hall of the People in honor of International Labor Day, also called May Day.

Prof. YIN Yulong, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, who is from the Institute of Subtropical Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Sciences(ISA), was awarded the title of "National Advanced Worker" by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the State Council of China (Fig. 1).

Prof. YIN has long been engaged in the regulation of amino acid metabolism in pigs and achieved a number of important innovations. The ileal digestibility of 40 swine feed nutrients has been examined systematically for the first time, leading to the discovery that the structure of carbohydrates in the feed and intestinal harmful microbes are responsible for the inefficient utilization of diet protein and nitrogen pollution of animal husbandry. Prof. YIN together with his research team has developed the diet formula with low nitrogen and phosphorus for pigs. Most importantly, Prof. YIN has won 4 National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology, and 27 invention patents. He published four book chapters, and 210 papers on SCI journals, and these publications have been cited for 5104 times (H’-index = 41). Prof. YIN enters the world's top 1% of scientists rated by Plnat & Animal & Science, Biology & Biochemistry, and Agricultural Sciences. Furthermore, Prof. YIN was the only Chinese agricultural scientist who won Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates in 2014.
