On August 29th, Dr. Charles Martin Nyachoti, senior international scientists of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has arrived at Institute of Subtropical Agriculture (ISA) and started his three- month research in ISA.
At the invitation of Professor YIN Yulong, Dr. Nyachoti gave a lecture entitled “The Role of Nutrition in Gut Health and Function in the Piglet” to ISA researchers and students.
In the report, Dr. Nyachoti introduced his serial research on animal nutrition, especially the effect of low-protein and xylanase diet on weaned piglets. After the report, ISA researchers discussed with Dr. Martin about some ideas on further study and cooperation in-depth study of pig non-essential amino acid requirements.
Dr. Nyachoti is a senior professor in Swine Nutrition & Management department, and an associate head in Department of Animal Science University of Manitoba. Besides, he is also an associate editor of several first-class journals, such as Animal and Avian Nutrition, British J. Nutrition, Non-ruminant Nutrition Section and J. Animal Science. He is well-known in the field of animal nutrition.
