Prof. Lutz Schomburg from the Institute of Endocrinology of Berlin Medical Center visited Institute of Subtropical Agriculture (ISA), Chinese Academy of Sciences from September 22nd to 26th.

On September 22nd, Prof. Lutz Schomburg gave a keynote report entitled “Selenium and Health – Fast Measurement of Se Status”. In the report, he mainly introduced the current important findings about selenium, the importance of selenium in human and animal disease and nutrition.

He also introduced his co-project with Xi’an Jiaotong University about selenium content in Chinese soil. Attended researchers and graduate students asked many question, and prof. Lutz Schomburg gave reply one by one.

During his visit, Prof. Lutz Schomburg gave training for researchers and graduate students about scientific paper writing. During the visiting, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement, which laid the foundation for further joint training of graduate students and mutual exchange of researchers.

Prof. Lutz Schomburg is the vice chairman of international selenium research association, he has studied selenium for a long term and built a lot of collaborations with institutes and universities from different countries. He has a good reputation in selenium research, and got many international awards.
