The subject entitled “Study on environment restoration and function promotion technologies in typical suburb agriculture area, which supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, was formally initiated in Institute of Subtropical Agriculture (ISA) on November 8th, just before the 30th anniversary of ISA, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Over 10 major researchers from cooperated institutions of the project, such as Research Center for Eco-environment Sciences, CAS, Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, CAS, Huazhong Agricultural University, China Agricultural University, Hunan Normal University, Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, CAS, Institute of Soil and fertilizer of Hunan Province, attended the conference.

Prof. Jinshui Wu, in charge of the project from ISA, reported the research goals, tasks, implementation schemes and assessment indexes of the project. He also required each responsible person of individual subject to accomplish the undertaken tasks strictly followed the general designed contents and goals. Each responsible person of individual subject reported the gained progresses of previous research works, the next step work schedule, the specific implementation schemes and the anticipated achievements.
